My daughter has read all of these books, plus the Mangas and the Field Guide. She completely loves the entire series, so I'm catching up with her so we can talk about them as she's reading them. Pretty entertaining as we love cats and have three that we compare to the cats in these books...quick and easy read for grownups.

wow i really did not like this one. its like everyone else's reactions to the last book ("it's nothing but traveling") hit me with this one with the added bonus of how nonsense everything with the tribe of rushing water is
utelizing spoiler tags for once:
Spoilerfeathertail's death really bothers me because it was way more anticlimactic than i remember it being and that's EXTRA annoying when the prophecy of the silver cat was clearly not about stormfur in the first place. in general i'm pissed off about stormfur and feathertail feeling like wasted potential??? i guess i shouldn't expect this series to make the most of its characters but MAN. there's a lot more i can go on about but i dont wanna be too much of a hater. not that i think these books dont deserve it i just dont wanna let myself get that worked up over warrior cats LMAO

The first 2/3 of this one was just as slow as the first book was, but thankfully around the 200 page mark it picked up and brought back the magic of the series that I fell in love with - in all of its action and heartbreaking brutality! I'm so glad, too, because I was starting to wonder if maybe the second series wasn't for me and that maybe I was falling out of love with the series. The last 100 pages reminded me why I fell in love in the first place!

The first book may have been on the boring side, but I confess it lulled me into a false sense of security, haha. Erin reminded me how harsh she can be in this one. Once again we see the hardship of the cats' lives in the wild - starvation, sickness, predators, humans, and conflict with other Clans. The threat of the Twolegs (humans) added a sense of direness to the story that I know we'll see more of. I can't wait to see how things get resolved!
SpoilerAnd I neeeed to know what happened to Leafpaw!! My poor baby!

Also, Feathertail's death hit me really hard. I was starting to get worried when the battle with Sharptooth (the mountain lion) approached, but to be honest I didn't expect to lose one of the main four cats of the prophecy. I loved her, but I'm also sad for when Graystripe finds out his daughter died *cries*

This book was more enjoyable then the last one. There was more action, there were more interesting cat's (tribecats living in the mountains.). I can actually say I don't like all that travelling, overall the tribe cats were interesting and the book was enjoyable.
