There are some solid ideas in this intermixed with some truly awful and bizarre takes that are frankly delusional when reality is taken into account.

A compilation of Seneca's writings and letters related to death, "How to Die" is one philosopher's views on death by illness, execution and suicide (plus when it is justified- in his mind- to take your own life.) The contrast between the way Seneca speaks about death in his private writings with the way he regards it in his letters to grieving friends reminds us that he was human, and flexible, rather than a divinely intelligent philosopher who had a hard moral code. Seneca is also reassuring around death, especially for those of us who may not have firm religious beliefs, he himself not being highly religious and speaking on how he is not afraid of death. Highly recommended title to fans of philosophy.

To live is to die;
