Had been interested in learning a bit more about attachment theory, as it's a bit buzzy lately. There were some new insights, though a lot here felt a bit like common sense. Still interesting to be aware of while navigating relationships of all kinds (even though the book emphasizes romantic partnership).

Could’ve been a pamphlet and doesn’t give a particularly optimistic view of avoidant types but everyone oughta read it.

Well researched and very digestible. I went in with a good foundation knowledge of attachment theory and the book added relevant applications. The only critique I found was that more could have been said about abusive behaviors which seemed to be swept under the rug of avoidance behavior. And relationship to personality disorders could have been fleshed out a bit.
I will be recommending this to clients though when applicable.
