Most amazing book I've ever read. It holds so much history, love, promises. I think it's a great read for anyone, believer or not.

Murder, mystery, magic and miracles. If you want drama, if you want horror, if you want romance: this book is for you :)

I always encourage people to take a read through because you never know what you'll find. Yeah, the man who walks out of the grave on "the third day" is pretty cool, but so is the man who calls on a couple of bears to eat a group of boys for making fun of him (2 Kings 2:23-24).... yeah.

Read it if you're religious or not, read it if you're bored, read it if you need fan fiction ideas.

What an incredible book. It starts off slow, with lots of genealogy, that seems unimportant at the time of reading but is pretty significant toward the end of the book. There are lots of rules being implemented, and reiterated one after the other over the first part of the few chapters. But after that, the story starts to pick up, and there are lots of stories of people that are for-telling of the future of this incredible man that comes to save everyone. Incredible stories of things that this man will do, and all of the adventures that he goes through and all of the people that believe in him.

The second part of this book that is labeled the “New Testament” is all about this amazing and incredible man that has fulfilled more prophecies and miracles than anybody in the entire world has ever fulfilled. He turns out to be the most selfless and loving character out of this entire book that everybody falls in love with. Some people that don’t believe that he is as incredible as he is, are very mean to him and bully him, and eventually end up getting him killed. But before he died, he told them that he would be coming back because it was his life mission to save everyone.
Three days later, he returns from the dead and defies death. No one can believe that he has returned from the dead, but he makes promises to everybody as he did his own resurrection that he will save everybody. This main character of the second half of the book his name is Jesus and he is the most important person in history. He has come to save everyone. This character of this book, Jesus only asks that you love him and follow all of his teachings and do as he does, and loves everyone and accepts everyone as they are.
The very last chapter of this book is incredible, promising and also can be scary. The main character Jesus ascends to the heavens, and will eventually come back, gather all the people that have loved him, but the people that remain on this earth will go through terrible times that he wishes nobody would have to go through because it’s going to be terrible and torturous.

I highly recommend this book to anyone if you were going through hard times because this is very uplifting. It has some hard times just like life does but it is so promising and can give you a great hope for the future to come. I encourage everyone to read this, and will absolutely fall in love with the main character.

I'm not religious, so I didn't have a great motivation for reading the bible. Furthermore, the way it's written is overly repetitive (random family trees, ...). The stories are weird and I've seen enough to conclude God is a hypocrite.

I really enjoyed the Old Testament. There are so many cool characters an stories that are magical and have hidden metaphors in them. I especially loved all the character development scenes where you get to learn about their customs and see how barbaric the characters were. Only the Old Testament could make you love characters who you know are forcing women to marry their rapists and who stone children for talking back to their parents and beat slaves. To me, that is the genius of the book. These are the worst people you could possibly imagine, yet somehow they find a way to see their humanity and teach you something about being kind (assuming the person you are being kind to is not a woman or child or slave of course)
Unfortunately, I ended up not finishing this book because of the New Testament.
For those of you who don't know, The New Testament isn't even written by the game guys as the Old Testament or in the same century! Combining the New and Old Testaments in one book, is like putting Pride and Prejudice and Zombies at the end of Pride and Prejudice. The New Testament is Old Testament Fan Fiction. You should know this going in, or you will be confused when you come across the second book. The two are only loosely tied together and don't come close to the depth of the original stories. They briefly mention the old characters that we grew to love, but it was brief and unsatisfying. It felt like more of an aside added after the fact, than an integral part of the story.

Spoiler alert: Jesus doesn't really die! You think he is dead and everyone is all sad about it, but a few chapters later, it turns out the dude is alive, and... its sort of explained how he is miraculously alive again, but I think the authors just got too much push back when they killed off everyone's favorite character so made up some mysterious zombie magic so he could be alive again the same way they did for Lazarus. Fool me one, authors, shame on you. Fool me twice, well I stopped reading after that. It just got too sensational for me, especially when they said he would live eternally... I mean, come on. Really? I'd rather read about a child sacrificing barbarian any day.

i just don’t understand why atheists/ un believers would read the Bible. if you don’t believe, don’t read it! and even if you do read and don’t like it, that doesn’t mean you have to be disrespectful.
