I loved the romance between Cardan and Jude, but i’m so sad about the ending. But i can imagine how it will set up the next book.
Spoiler Everything  was so cute and I was so happy when they got married and then it just all went to shit
. Also I hate locke.

Overall I enjoyed the book,
The plot carried well from the first and I intent to read the final book of the series.
However, I felt there was much to be desired in explaining character motives (hopefully this will all come to light in the final book). I hope to be able to empathise with the characters and feel that the relationships they are building are justifiable.

This is the best book of the series (IMO). It's full of the faerie stuff of making sure your words are smart, of promises and of schemes. It is dramatic, it is tense, it is adventurous. There is so much unfolding. The pace is fast, but I wouldn't say it is rushed. It is fast because we have to always be on our toes, trying to be one step ahead as Jude is. Things thrown her way ruin her plans, and she has to adapt-- quickly-- before things get horrible. Overall this is my favorite, and I'm glad I stuck with this series despite my initial issues with the first book. In this book you learn much more of the main crew. Their thoughts, their reasoning, etc.

Original Read: 5⭐️
Reread: 4⭐️

Whilst I still enjoyed this the second time through and I did like the character development that took place in this book, I didn’t find myself as obsessed with this book as I love the first one.

There is something about HB’s writing that almost annoys me with her plot layout. She tends to keep a lot of it secret from the reader even though you are in Jude’s head you don’t know what she is always thinking or scheming so it could be the “shock” factor of letting the scheme play out… and sometimes I just wanna know what is going through her head before she schemes to see how her mind works forming the plans, but instead you are just shown the result of the plan which gets annoying… especially since she herself seems irritated when the same thing happens to her in the plot not knowing other characters plans…

Still I did enjoy this reread and am jumping into the final book! I need my final fix of Jude and Cardan
