Holy F*ck! I have no words! The bloodiest darkest Princess story meets Prince you can ever imagine. It was kinda fabulous lol.

It’s almost as if someone looked at Patrick Bateman, and then said “Hold my Fucking Beer”.

Lot of people talking about how this is a feminist icon. Guess they didn't pay attention to the end. The discrepancy between the characters words and her actions. I enjoyed this. Though I do agree the most terrifying part is the cover.

Ottessa Moshfegh for the depraved girlies

This book is not feminist even though it says it all over the cover. In fact some readers have thought of Maeve as a pick me girl… Just shows how much women are judged and just how perfect they have to be even while they are literally serial killers…. We’re still worried that Maeve is not a “girls girl” At one point she tears out the eyeball of her bestfriends abusive boyfriend. Seems like a girls girls to me…

Her words can be interpreted differently especially because she will say something and then not elaborate on it. I guess she is making very broad statements you could say and I interpreted them as people being judged and criticized fairly. Basically what I’m trying to say is there is no misogyny or pick me energy that was outwardly obvious. A book in my opinion should not have to be so literal with the reader all the time just so readers don’t interpret her as not being a “girls girl.”

Back to what I was saying some would say this book is DEFINITELY not feminist. I would agree. Not everything a woman writes needs to be feminist. Maeve Fly is all about Maeve. It’s extremely character focused and has nothing to do with feminism..

I really wanted to like this book but it was so slow and boring. Nothing horror, nothing scary. Just a tries-too-hard pick me girl edgelord and her rambling....
