The characters felt a bit one dimensional, we didn't learn much about any of them except for their abilities. This even extends to the main characters, I thought Jacob would have some depth especially as Riggs detailed Jacob's mental health issues in the beginning but his struggles just disappear and he copes remarkably well with everything else that happens.
I found it easy to read, engaging and would recommend to 10-14 year olds. A great quirky, paranormal fantasy book.

It did a great job of helping me feel the feelings the protagonist felt, and those feelings were complicated and his decisions were not easy. Overall, I very much enjoyed it.
There are hints of deep prose here and there in the book and honestly, I wouldn't have minded it having a little more to help the book feel more powerful.
