My Review ✨

➡️ SWIPE 4 SYNOPSIS ➡️

Hester by Lori Lico Albanese

I loved this retelling of the Scarlett letter. It was beautifully written. I loved the pov of the girl who inspires Nathaniel to write the book. I really felt for Isobel, she didn’t have an easy life but she was a hard worker and go getter.

I didn’t love the flashback scenes and I felt like the book could’ve done without them.

Other than that, excellent book.

Reminded me a bit of Ruby Sparks.
SpoilerThere was a bit of “I’m an author and I’m going to steal from my life wholecloth without regard to the feelings of people around me.”

Once he said, I invented you and you came. Now he's saying the opposite: that I am the conjurer, and he is the conjured.

gorgeous and fascinating. the twist on the scarlett letter’s origin story is interesting to weird and isobel is a great character to read. it drags a at times, but the payoff is good
