Dystopia meets Xmen meet La Femme Nikita. Loved the stream of consciousness, strike through voice. Parts are fresh and inventive - others are hokey and I couldn't help but giggle and say, "Really." I'd be willing to read the next book.

4/5 stars, this is a reread for me, one i LOVED when i first read it and it still makes my heart happy. Is this really a four star book? maybe, maybe not. I personally love the characters (Juliette gets better), I enjoy the beautiful writing (it’s like poetry, you don’t always have to understand it to like it), and i like the story. I think the later books are better, the characters develop more, plot holes are filled it and things evolve really well, but this is a first novel, it really just introduces us to the characters and plot, and if you think of it like that, yes it’s a four star read. It’s fast, sometimes too fast, but it makes it easy to read.

I love this book, but I can see it’s flaws, hence docking it a star. I still love it, it’s close to my heart, it’s nostalgic.
