This was a quick and easy read, but I didn't really get into the story until about 35% in... I liked the three generations of women supporting each other in their separate problems, but it felt like there was a little too much going on. Some of the story felt like it was glossed over and while some of it got too much detail or repetition.
All in all, it will be good book to bring to the beach with you.
Thanks to Avon, Harper Voyager, and Netgalley for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book was ok…. But honestly it took the ENTIRE book u til the last 4 chapters for anything to really develop. So honestly it was harder to get through.

Summer Island is the perfect book for summer reading. It has the perfect amount of family drama to keep you glued to your beach chair and you will want to finish it in one sitting.
I enjoyed this multi-generational story involving mothers and daughters and how complicated they can be, even when you are a grown adult. The side story of grief and how everyone processes it differently was so refreshing. Our futures are not set in stone, and it is up to each person to decide which is the best way forward for them. The messages are heavy at times, but the way the author presents them does not weigh heavy on your heart.
I was very anxious when I read “But when an accident threatens to destroy….” But this just made me want to keep reading!
Thank you to bibliolifestyle, Shelley Noble, Avon books, and William Morrow books for the gifted copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

3.75 stars!
The cover and description drew my attention to this heartwarming story about a Mother and Daughter road trip to the beach.
I thought the writing was fun, and it made for those perfect summery vibes that I’ve been craving. The pacing started slow for me, but the story picks up, and I thought it was a sweet book!
*many thanks to Avon/William Morrow for the gifted copy for review
