I'd just like to know how the hell Harlry Laroux managed to write a trilogy following each couples same objective, with all timelines running parallel to each other, yet every story managed to stay unique and not be same-y... What sorcery is this?

Anyway, back to Soul of a Witch. In comparison to the previous two books in the trilogy, I don't feel like I connected with Everly and Callum in the same way that I did with previous pairings. I feel like SOMETHING lacked but I cannot, for the life of me, put my finger on what it was.

I have seen people be negative about Callums choice of pet names etc. However, I think it was a superior choice because it really harks back to just how long he's been wandering the earth as a demon. So his dialogue often has the vibe of historical romance type dialogue and I ATE. THAT. UP.

Spicy wise, it's definitely on par with the previous two books in that it was off the charts and I was as shook as always 🤣

The connection between Everly and Callum sometimes felt a bit strained and I have to say I felt it more on his part. We felt his yearning, his pining, his absolute adoration and dedication to Everly. I didn't get the same from Everly's POV. This may have been an intentional choice, however, as Callum has basically been looking for Everly for thousands of years whereas Callum is fairly new to her.

I loved that we got to the point where Everly has that moment in the past where she asks him for help that we saw at the beginning when Callum sees her for the first time. It felt... I can't explain it. Like I loved seeing that interaction from both perspectives even though they were at the beginning and the end. It felt full circle.

Anyway. If you love dark romance with a touch of horror (which I typically don't so I have no idea why I'm obsessed with this series 🤣), this trilogy is a must read.

I devoured half this book in a night, but everything past that started to bore me and I started skimming. I'm not sure if it's because at this point we've heard about The Deep One and his cronies for three books so it was pretty much told at this point. And that little thing that happens at 97% with
Everly getting knocked up
made me throw my Kindle down. Get out of here.  The spice hits but the plot was meh.

I did like this one was more fantasy and the witchy vibes were immaculate but I didn't particularly like Everly or Callum (too insta-love and no development between innocent and sex expert, give me some pinning and unsure feelings). But maybe because Zane and Juniper are <3 and nothing can beat them.  I still found the trilogy unique by having it told from three different couple's perspectives. I hope we get more in this world because I need me some demon boys.
