This is the first time I'm a blogtour for a book I bought well before I heard about the blog tour. The excellent reviews by writers I love made me buy it. The Amistead Mauping reference was a bonus added as I'm a huge fan of Tales from the City.
I fell in love when it talked about the evengelical aunts and the car with the stickers about the Rapture.
It's a romp, a highly entertaining romp. The occasional one night stand that turn in the search for the disappeared Camilo. The very diverse cast that I found interesting and made me laugh.
And Commander who is a great characters.
It's not a fast-pace/actio packed/etc etc but it's a highly entertaining and gripping story that I strongly recommende.d
Hope to read the next story soon.
Many thanks to Rob Osler and Melissa Amster for this digital copy, all opinions are mine

A wild yet fun ride. I adored Hayden and his character development. I really wasn't sure about this one at first and had no idea what I was in for, but I ended up really enjoying it!

A wonderful modern cozy mystery, and just what I was looking for. The characters feel like real people with real problems & flaws - not hokey caricatures - while being incredibly likable and relatable. The mystery is intriguing and the ending isn’t too obvious while maintaining feasibility. Will definitely read more from this series and author!

This is so cute. I love the characters so much. I’m very attached to them. I love the diversity. I love the mystery. I think it’s definitely for lgbtqia+ family especially. It’s a cozy mystery and definitely something I didn’t want to put down.

This was very queer and...cute. It was a cute mystery. I haven't read a lot of mysteries in recent years, and cute/cozy wasn't ever my go-to, but the queerness of this one hooked me. The MC is a little redhaired guy, and I have always appreciated redheads of all genders, so I was already predisposed to want good things for him. He's a teacher on summer break, and he's also a blogger, doing a column inexplicably called Mates on Dates, on gay dating. A few examples of his column are woven into the story and...he's probably a good teacher. That's probably what he should stick to doing.

There's people of every ethnicity, go-go dancing, DACA, foster dogs, people of unusual size, gay bars, bakeries, nonagenarians, pet shops, and all of Seattle.

(I lived in Seattle for years, and I was confused by the references to the Magnolia neighborhood as a playground of the wealthy. I mean, there were some nice houses when I lived in Magnolia, but it was mostly cottages and ranches. But again, I lived there many years ago and maybe now it's all glam.)

I figured out the who just because, but not the why or the how, and it was a reasonably satisfying conclusion. Well, except for the last few lines of the book, which I didn't understand. Who was he talking to/about?

Well, this one was a wonderful surprise! It begins a bit slow but soon enough I was truly engaged in the search for Camilo.

The characters are great, vibrant and well defined, the story hits the right mix of humour and suspense, and I found the blog posts' asides delightful.

I'll be checking for more stories by this author, I really, really liked it :D
