An amazing will they/won't they romance with fantastically developed characters! This book is perfect for reading around a campfire under the stars. Zorie and Lennon are adorable as they traverse best friends to enemies to lovers - all while stuck on a hiking trail where their friends abandoned them. I loved this contemporary!

this was so corny but I liked it a lot more than ‘Alex, Approximately’. pretty much every character in this book was annoying af besides Zorie, Lennon, and his moms. Lennon and Zorie were super cute and I love the second chance trope so you know I ate this up!!!

This was a very fun YA love story. I really liked the hiking in the woods adventure and now I’m dying to go to a star party! I also liked that it wasn’t some jock guy falling for the nerdy girl but the quiet goth kid who loves snakes.

I just love Bennett’s work! The YA worlds she creates are quirky, complex, and realistic. The characters make poor choices, as do most teenagers, but the ones in Starry Eyes work to acknowledge their quirks and know themselves. For characters that didn't talk for a year, they got real good at communication too.

It moved a little slow (in terms of MC relationship) but there were a lot of barriers both characters had to work through.

This book commented on high school social structure, suicide, drugs, underage drinking, responsible camping, adultery, anxiety, safe sex, sex toys, and contained two prominent secondary queer characters in a healthy relationship.

Things that I loved:
- Setting. Hello wilderness and backpacking.
- The main characters had many quirks and hobbies that would be deemed weird in most mainstream movies about popular high school students. I LOVED IT. They embraced themselves (for the most part)!
- It wasn’t a story about someone getting the popular guy or becoming popular. It was a story of best friends working through miscommunication.

I did enjoy this book. It was such a fun summer read with a prefect mix of a summer adventure story, survival story and also rekindled romance and also romeo and Juliet. I really did grown to love both leads in this story and. I really did grow to love Lennon a lot and just loved their dynamics. I thought the environment of this novel was really fun back drop for this novel. I wish there was tad more survival stuff then there was. But it was a fun read and would def. read more by this author in the future!

Such a cute little story "From friends to more" trope.
Zorie and Lennon were adorable!

I also loved the name Zorie. So freaking much!!!! I enjoyed her character, personality and interests and the journey to see her get more comfortable with life 😂

Lennon all black emo dude. And how Zorie describes him the first time in words " he is like a villian from a anime " 😂 hilarious

And I love the whole theme of the book about life being just unexpected and we can't plan it every step of the way and about just going with the flow.

I love camping based stories. And this was a fun, unexpected adventure with lots of twists and turns!!!

3.5 stars!! This was an amazing read for me! For the one who loves nature, hiking and wilderness, this book is absolutely perfect for them☄ I flapped my windows open and lied on the bed and went through this ride, it felt so real. Consummate read for a beautiful windy night

Jenn Bennett can do no wrong. I can't believe that I didn't know about her books 8 months ago. I have read most of her work now and loved every book.
This was such a great story and I ADORED the two main characters. The had so much quirkiness, depth and banter. I was grinning at the book for about 70% because of the cuteness and amazing storyline.
Can you tell I liked it just a little bit?!
Seriously cannot praise Jenn Bennett enough. Her books will be a go to for me whenever I need a pick me up.
Also I adore nature and the outdoors so this book was made for me.
Recently YA contemporary romance has felt too young for me (I'm 29 (okay +2)). But this just never felt young. It was smart and brilliant.
Okay ending my gushing here
