A film in comic book form. It's about art, fear, love, connection, distance, desire, being in your own skin and your own life. OWNING your life. It's just awesome.

That was a real page-turner for me, although I wasn't always sure why. I love the fact the Paul Pope seems to be influenced a lot by European comics.

Great film vibe throughout -- mapped out a world for itself and did so in bold strokes.

The story was good, but the hyper-stylization of the artwork kind of took away from it. Don't get me wrong, Paul Pope's artwork is beautifully rendered, but this story didn't really need it.

I love Paul Pope's style, and there are a lot of really interesting story threads running through this one, adding up to one great whole. A fascinating collection.

http://nhw.livejournal.com/816176.html[return][return]A very well done story of six people, forming and unforming as couples, in New York in the year 2038; the background is fairly incidental, and it reminded me a bit of Jason Lutes' Berlin, though with less politics.

I’ve never read anything quite like it. Gritty, sexy, grotesque, and overwhelming. It’s like Jack Kirby spliced with Philip K. Dick.

Though set in ~2038, the sci-fi elements are virtually non-existent. Nevertheless, interesting relationship drama and effective onomatopoeia for conveying situation and atmosphere.
