Not as fluid as the previous 3 books. It felt like
the idea of the cosmere was created during this book so all the context around it had to be added in. At times it was too much and either broke the flow of the book or made it feel like a filler for the next novel in the series.

Once again, Sanderson has created a stunning addition to the Stormlight series.

Like the books (full sized novels, not the novellas) before it, we dove into the backstory of a character: Venli. We also were transported into Shadesmar, visiting the Honorspren capital, which was really cool.

One thing I love about this series is that it goes into hard topics, such as abuse, addiction, and suicide, and shows people overcoming those trials.

And the climax… oh… it was amazing. I’m not entirely sure whether I liked this book’s climax better, or Oathbringer’s better. I think I’m not sure because they’re great in different ways. I’ll be honest, I actually cried. Not because I was sad, though that almost happened too, but because there is such a touching scene. And then Kaladin gets some major character development! Yay! *dances around throwing confetti* Yes, he’s my favorite character.

But oh ho ho. You thought I was done. NOPE! The climax was crazy, but just WAIT until the epilogue…
And then the book ends. Super great though! I LOVED it! Excitedly waiting for book 5. :)
