The Stormlight Archive just goes from strength to strength and Rhythm of War is no exception. It's a story filled with heart, themes that are surprising to find in a fantasy novel, real threat and intrigue. It's a hefty read, but I found overall that the book was gripping enough for me to want to keep reading. I love each of the characters in their own way, and I think the length of each book allows each of the characters to grow and develop organically in a way I don't find forced. For a fantasy book it also has plenty of mystery and twists and turns that it's not quite Game of Thrones level of threat, but I genuinely worry that characters may not make it through/the "goodies" aren't guaranteed to win at all times. Each faction has intention and drive that makes their decisions and wants valid. I can't wait to read the next one, and immerse myself further in this very original and exciting world.

another excellent story, i liked how things developed i.e.,

the tower and bringing the lights together, those scientific advancements

, its going to be super interesting

especially with odium being replaced, did not see that coming

one thing though does irk me

is shallan's character arc, it is taking a long time to fully flesh out her growth. obviously i didn't see her having another pattern, that was interesting but please hurry up omg

Not as fluid as the previous 3 books. It felt like

the idea of the cosmere was created during this book so all the context around it had to be added in. At times it was too much and either broke the flow of the book or made it feel like a filler for the next novel in the series.
