When I started this book I thought it was kind of dumb, the dialogue sucked but the world building was so charming and interesting I kept with it. Halfway through I got hooked. Once a main plot point became "Essie froze a man's dick off" I was committed. I really really really enjoyed this book! I do think the TW:SA plot point about Josh's ex raping him unconscious was extremely unnecessary and uncomfortable to read but otherwise so fun, I wish it were a series to learn more about these witches!

Hex Appeal is a fun, fast-paced witchy romance. It has loads of unique characters and a plot I wasn't expecting. I thought this was just going to be about the romance between the two lead characters, however we also got to explore witch-hunters first hand.
At one point we had a bit of exposition regarding Josh's past relationship, but this felt a bit out of place for the tone of the rest of the book. I found it a bit jarring as the rest of the book is quite whimsical and funny, whereas his past was a bit dark and unexpected.
Overall I really enjoyed this, the narration was great and brough all the unique characters to life. I'd recommend this if you're looking for a witchy rom-com read. I've also just discovered that this is actually a series so I will be having a look into the other books!

I wasn't sure on this book at first. I'd assumed it would be a romcom from the front cover but that wasn't the main plot for a lot of it. But it really took me by surprise. I enjoyed the diversity of the characters (although the references to easy being 'round and soft' felt unnecessary). I also loved the witchy aspects. There are mentions of SA, so be warned.
