It dragged on a little bit but in the end I enjoyed it. I felt that the book didn’t click with me until the end

The numerous grammar and punctuation issues were the first red flag. The second was that the MMC who is an American and has just arrived in the UK has adopted English phrases. I was so looking forward to this book when I bought it but I can’t get past the obvious lack of editing

I listened to the audio book of Hex Appeal.
I loved Essie and Josh and all of the women living in BeldamHouse.
This was a cute, quirky read with a happy ending. If you’re looking for something light and sweet, I feel like this scratches the itch!

While I was enjoying this story, it was extremely long and the narrator wasn’t to my liking. The MMC was American and it seemed like she had a hard time doing an American accent while making her voice deeper. It was hard to keep up with the which character was which. Also, even though the MMC was American, when we were in his pov, the author still used British turns of phrase, which made it even more difficult to differentiate between characters.
