I’ve really enjoyed this book! The idea is really unique and it’s really well done.

I enjoyed the writing style and I would definitely recommend it, if you like history. The authors showed some different cultures through history and they did it really well I really enjoyed that aspect of the book.

The main thing I struggled with is that it’s a short story collection. I’ve always had a hard time reading those and this one was no different. The only character we follow throughout the whole story was Samson and I didn’t really care about him, I am however really interested in where this story will go in the next volumes. It’s just sad that I get attached to some of the characters we’ll only see for a small part of the story.

I was also a bit hard for me to understand the beliefs in the story, as I am not raised religiously, so I didn’t know Samson’s story before reading this. I do think it’s nice to have read that story beforehand as I think you’ll be more attached to Samson that way.

I did still really enjoy this book and will probably pick up the next books in this series.

Samson, forgive me! I was wrong to have not loved you as you loved me.
