Majorly recommend for all Dark Crystal fans, it helps to know its origins and it’s an absolutely cosy read. There’s so much potential to see more events and stories that stem from Thra. These books are under-rated in my opinion.

This was so great to read

It was lovely to see the stories behind the original movie
to see what happened before we got to the Dark crystal
I can't wait to read more

This made me want to re-watch the movie all over again

3.13.23 A fun introduction to the world. Randomly repetitive, but very interesting.

Some fans will love this simply because of what it it, however, Creation Myths feels very inconsistent. At times I felt immersed in the world of the Dark Crystal and at others it felt like I was reading something completely different.

A real hilight of the narrative was the focus on Augra, which felt true to her character and did a good job of expanding on the lore of the world. Her son Raunip was also a welcome addition to the story and the art style was very nice.

In saying this, the short stories about the Gelfling felt unnecessary and offbeat. They did not reflect the world we have come to know and love but felt separate from it. I particularly found the pages of text unfit for the comic medium and broke my immersion in the story.

Some parts are good...some aren’t...That’s pretty much it.

A gorgeous look into the myths and beginnings of Thra! The writing is fun, imaginative and reminds me of old folk tales and fables, the art is beautiful and the layouts really interesting - all in all a very enjoyable comic!

The Dark Crystal is my favorite movie in the entire universe, so it pains me to say that I hated this book. Overall, I found the stories in this collection to be boring and too bizarre for my taste. I couldn't stand the addition of Aughra's son and, without characters worth caring about, I had to force myself to read this entire book. I'm grateful for anything about The Dark Crystal to exist in the world, but this just wasn't for me. I'll stick to the movie, thanks.
