Sehr lehrreich, zu wissen, wie sich Singles in den Mittdreißigern verhalten :D
Bridget ist schon saulustig und Mr. Darcy ist einfach genau so, wie ein Mr. Darcy zu sein hat.

I LOVE P&P retellings. LOVE them. But this one, although it is one of the most well-known, really just fell so flat for me. There was way too much cussing and booze, and it made the whole thing feel really far away from the genteel novel of Austen.

I've never seen the movie, but everyone says it's better so maybe I'll give that a chance. THIS, however, was not it. I only picked this up because for some reason I decided to do the Popsugar Reading Challenge this year and one of the prompts is to read a book published the year you were born. I must have been born in a very dull publishing year because my options were slim to none. Felt like reading a rom-com so decided on this one and BOY do I have regrets.
I don't feel disappointed because I honestly had no expectations going into it since it wasn't even on my TBR, but this was just terrible. Bridget is whiny and self-deprecating in the most annoying way possible which made reading her diary nearly impossible. Just... didn't enjoy it at all.
I'll give the movie a shot, like I said, but I wouldn't recommend anyone pick this up. It was a SLOG.

This book has an insane queue in every library, so it took me a while to get a copy. It was really unimpressive. The movies are super cute and really funny, but the book was boring and nothing to write home about.
It has its moments, but I don't think those moments are worth reading the whole thing.
