This would be a nightmare to stage, but I enjoy the monologues.

3.5 Stars - Not sure why I haven't read this play before. Been on my shelf forever. This play is based on the "Scopes Monkey Trial" of 1925.

Loves this intensely! I want to buy it just so I can whip it out and read it when I'm bored. I will definitely be rereading this in the future

3.5 stars. Although I appreciate the premise of this play (being a biologist and believing in evolution), there were a couple of things I would have liked to have known. I would have liked to have known a bit more about some of the characters...I felt there wasn't enough about Cates, Rachel, or Drummond to name a few. I would have liked more at the end...I thought the final scene left me wanting answers. Maybe that is intentional??? Would love to see it performed.

I actually quite liked this! More than I remembered liking it when I saw it in high school. I guess I just have a thing for courtroom plays now. I'm happy to say that I remembered a lot of it; I remembered the ending remarkably well.

I'm sorry I don't have more specific critiques or comments for this one. I just really liked it. It was short and easy, but profound and historic as well. I recommend it to anyone, really.
