Not my favorite Clive Barker collection, but it's worth reading if you're a fan. The version I read has the titular novella, plus four extra short stories. Interestingly, two of the stories in this book were later adapted and directed by Barker- Cabal as Nightbreed and The Last Illusion as Lord of Illusions.

Barker has several cringeworthy "men writing women" moments that panders to the worst in his audience, but he does some excellent world building with a great story horror story about sympathetic monsters hiding from much worse nightmares.
