Should definitely come with a trigger warning! Except that, I adored the book, but was less attached to the story/characters than with Saving Noah, but couldn’t tell u why. Once again, Berry’s writting is flawless and totally on point. I love the fact that she was actually a therapist, and love to think she was a bit like Lisa.

Outside of the two main plot points nothing really happened and even those were quickly bypassed. If you like books where people just talk and talk and talk you'll like this.

This was fascinating. I was initially confused, but as the situation got clearer, I started feeling illuminated.  However, it got harder and harder for me to feel compassion for the protagonist as the story unfolded and especially after the big reveal. But I also realize that the author is writing about real people fictionally based on her expertise as a former psychologist. That jarred me a little - to think that the whole story actually has happened to multiple people, that this is all natural to the darker forces of human nature, and that at any point in my life, with any unfair twist of fate, something I could’ve undergone a similar darkness. The self-reflection in itself was a point of mental and emotional freedom for me. Ask that said, I hated the twist.
