A bitterseet ending to the Morse series
Throughly enjoyed the final book, showing Morse's loyalty to his colleagues and friends
The mystery was enjoyable with a few twists all in all i good way to end

I’ve been a fan of the Inspector Morse mysteries for years, largely due to the television adaptations of many of his cases. This was an excellent final chapter.

The final Morse. Nicely written, as always. A complex case with twists. A satisfying but sad ending to the series.

This one is the last Morse and a bit bittersweet at the end. Read it more for the nostalgia than for the actual mystery.

I've enjoyed the whole series, read rather serially back to back.
This one was the last so not sure the 5 stars is out of emotion or actual enjoyment

Where to start? A confusing, rambling, long-winded, tedious book, with sometimes up to five pages dedicated to setting the scene for a walk-on character who will never appear again. Overly and unnecessarily descriptive. Two similar families with similar names (Harrison; Richardson) so you are constantly trying to re-orient yourself to who's who. I finally just skipped the last 75 pages and went right to the epilogue. That's all I needed. I passed up the final Morse scene, because by then I just didn't care any more.
