It's honestly a little difficult to put in to words how I felt about this book... I was drawn in by the idea that it combined horror and art, but there is a quality about it that is just very different from most things I read. I think the best verbiage I can use, is to say that this book feels *grimy*...

I feel it compulsive, and was unable to put it down at points- while at the same time noting that it made me feel more uneasy than almost anything I have ever read before. It is profoundly disturbing. I have seen a few others describe it as a gender swapped American Psycho, and while yes, it sort of is- it feels like it goes further than that.

I found the way it explored women looking at men through the sort of objectifying and often violent lens, that we typically see men looking a women through fascinating- as much as it was terrifying. There is a point about 80% in, where everything just seems to happen at once and the insanity is turned up to 11. I can't exactly say I enjoyed it.. in all honesty I felt a little sick while reading it, but I understood what it was trying to say, and that I appreciated.

Absolutely devoured this book.

Compulsively readable, surprisingly funny, painfully relatable, and incredibly uncomfortable. I can’t wait to read more from this author.

This was genuinely so fucking wild. It's like a modern American Psycho set around the power imbalance women have.

this book was absolutely crazy. i did not realize what i signed up for when i started it and HOLY COW. the plot twist about halfway through had me legitimately screaming "WHAT THE FUCK"  at my kindle for several minutes. loved the tension, intensity, and pacing. i felt like the characterizations and use of an unreliable narrator were done in a way that really elevated the experience of reading, i was completely captivated.  absolutely phenomenal debut novel, a new top recommendation.

What the actual fuck did i just read? What was the plot of the book here? What are we talking about here? Why is it written so poorly? I cant get over "as the kids say, woke". I feel like you're going to be a best selling author, at least use proper grammar or have at least a plot? Worst book I have read so far. It's also tetering on the edge of racist and has waaayyy too much sexual assault in it. I did not like reading from the point of view of someone who was basically a r*pist. It felt like the loophole to not break that line for the author was to add "and then i asked if he was ok". So uncomfy and so confusing.

Was not expecting to but really loved this. Messed up but in a way that escalated throughout the story so that it had a good pace and was addictive. Also feels a bit hallucinogenic in that you finish it not really sure whether certain things happened and on an open-ended note. Was nervous about this one as I didn't get on with Bunny at all which seems to be a similar recommendation to this, but the writing in Boy Parts is much more conversational with a bit of humour in there too.
