cozy_academic's review against another edition
I couldn't finish the book because the way Harry, Ron, and Hermione treat each other as "friends" in this book made me not want to pick it up. I understand their age and the circumstances, but I got to chapter 15 and had enough of the three of them constantly at each others' throats. By this point in the book, their attitudes towards each other felt painful to read, especially since Ron and Hermione are supposed to be a romantic couple by the end of the series. In this book, their relationship reads as a trauma bond without having actual respect for one another.
Graphic: Torture and Child abuse
Moderate: War, Violence, Toxic relationship, Death of parent, Xenophobia, and Toxic friendship
