I'm confused why so many people said that this was the worst in the series??

I found this book really enjoyable and loved Bailey and Beau. And without saying too much, I think Bailey's emotions were completely reasonable and I really enjoyed her character.

This was my most anticipated book in the Chestnut Springs series, and unfortunately, it did not live up to my hopes. Thankfully, about halfway through, things got better, and I started to really enjoy the plot. Sadly, for the first half of the book, Beau feels so immature. And the constant mentioning of Bailey’s age bothered me. I also understand that Beau wanted to separate from his family after the accident, but not having as many of the extended family scenes as the previous books had me a bit sad. Beau thankfully developed as a character and became more like I imagined he would be based on the other books in the series. I liked Bailey’s honesty and sex positivity, but at times in the beginning, it felt like they only had lust, not love (or the beginnings of) for each other.

Beau and Bailey were perfection. Having the duality of their hilarious banter mixed with their vulnerable moments had me feeling all types of emotions. Their dynamic is so precious, how Beau defends and stick ups for Bailey across all avenues and how Bailey helps Beau process these repressed feelings of being back in civilian life after everything that occurred in his last deployment. Their balance and support for one another, while their internal/external struggles might be different, had my heart exploding.

I loved this book, however the age gap (and the fact that she has zero experience) makes me rlly uncomfy

Omg I really like beau and baileys story. Even if their romance happened a little fast I gotta say I don't mind that because they still had great tension and romance. Theyre so cute and I liked them as characters a lot. Totally worth reading first I didn't feel like I missed out on anything when it came to the context of the other couples and it actually made me want to read the others stories!!
