I really enjoyed this. It is leaning on the academic side by providing myths from several Inuit peoples, leaving the analysis (comparisons and how these myths affect ways of life) up to the reader.

The beautiful illustrations are the only reason I didn't rate this book lower. I didn't find it very engaging. Most of the book is just reprints from early 20th century books about Inuit folklore written by non-indigenous explorers. The authors provide nothing other than this and a small summary of the story they are about to tell, not as much nuance/analysis as I was hoping for.
