I actually enjoyed this read, perhaps even more than some of my higher ratings. The book brings very similar vibes compared to the movie Escape Room. Although the pacing is very fast, the mystery is solved rather quickly or easily guessable so it loses my interest a bit half way through. Recommended for a quick airplane read or whenever you need to pass the time.

Great premise but a tame execution and annoying characters caused it to fall flat. Still an enjoyable time though.

I've loved every book I've read from this author, and this one was absolutely no exception. It was pacy and kept me guessing as to what was coming next.
~
One thing this book has definitely taught me is that I shouldn't get sucked in by stereotypes, and I should probably rely on them less to understand people. People aren't stereotypes, they are multifaceted, distinctive personalities. And while they may display traits from particular stereotypes that doesn't make that the sum of who they are.
~
I liked all of the characters, for different reasons, and some of them surprised me, which is something else that can be said for getting too bogged down with identifying people. Take Helix for example. He's stereotyped as the Weirdo of the group. He's described as a goth, pale face, dark clothes, long coat. And yet, when it came down to it, he tried to save one of them, despite them calling him a freak and other similar terms.
~
I really liked this book. For the plot and the characters, but also for the commentary it provided on the importance of not pigeonholing people too heavily, and not being restrictive of people's personalities and boiling it down to one defined trait.
