A fun, quick prequel to the 24-hour bookstore. I enjoyed it!

Fast moving sci-fi fantasy novel. Wonderful imagination. With nods to Silicon Valley and the brain trust of San Francisco.

Meh. I loved Mr Penumbras 24 Hour Bookstore, so I was excited for this little novella; however, I just don’t feel like we had enough set up to get super invested in the story.

This is a short prequel to Mr Penumbra's 24 Hour Bookstore, which was one of my favorite books of 2014. This is a fun look at how Penumbra got into the world of special books.
There was the thread of technology in this book that was found in the other book. Anyone who reads Mr. Penumbra's should read this.
