This took me a while to get through. Not because it's a big book, just that I had other writing commitments that protracted the process. I would say the the first quarter of the book alone is worth 4 stars. The opening chapter hits 5 stars. But the reason I ended up bringing it all down to 3 stars is because it became too drawn out and repetitive. It clearly became an exercise in detail and historical accuracy than narrative toward the middle, and it didn't really change that much thereafter. It's hard to tell if the author wanted to create a story that was factual but may compromise the story of the brothers, or create a great story that was factually correct. I'm assuming it was the latter, but sadly it ended up being the former. Nonetheless, that opening chapter was probably one of the best I've read in a long time. Maybe ever. For that reason I would recommend it.

A great read. It started off kind of slow but midway through it turned into a page turner. Now I can't wait for the movie adaption. Hopefully they didn't change too much.
