This book was so much better than the first. I loved Lucky as a character and thought that Taylor was a good match for him.

The scenes from this story sizzled and the romance was brilliant, you had the tug of war, the realisation and the pure happiness of them both.

This book as a joy to read with all the 'hot' bits enough to light a fire in almost everyone.

His Southern Temptation manages to be a sweet romance with liberal hot, steamy sex in multiple locations and a good measure of suspense. You will absolutely fall in love with these characters. David ""Lucky"" Landon is a former special-ops Marine that has returned to his hometown to take over the family farm. He is staying at the home of one of his best friends when he is awakened by the sound of a bullet being chambered near his head. He disarms the person and finds Mary-Taylor Elliott. Lucky and Taylor have known each other for all of their lives s and had sporadic affairs for the last 10 years.

Lucky has been waiting for an opportunity to make their arrangement permanent, but Taylor is scarred by the failure of her past relationships and the demise of her parent's marriage. I enjoyed this turnabout normally the female is pining away loving the male and waiting for him to choose her, but this book is not your typical formulaic romance. Neither Lucky nor Taylor deny themselves the pleasure of each other's body and when Lucky turns up the heat to convince Taylor to stay ----get ready to sweat because this is one Marine determined to accomplish his mission.

I loves that Taylor and Lucky genuinely loved each other (by the way he told her he loved her first--Lucky is some kind of alpha man). Taylor even goes so far as to work at a strip club to help Lucky with his case. Lucky is willing to give up his life savings to pay Taylor's ransom after she is kidnapped by a devious businessman. You also get a real sense of Taylor's conflict between choosing to stay for Lucky and returning to Hawaii to own a business. The reader is able to see how the mix of her experience with failed relationships and her mother's failed marriage make her doubt herself and the ability of their relationship to survive. Through restaurant fights, strip club brawls, meddling family members, and a kidnapping Lucky and Taylor realize love is not limited to time or place and other's don't have to understand or approve because their love is a force all its own that will not be denied. This is a story that will resonate with any modern woman that has questioned whether she can really have it all. You will enjoy Taylor as a strong, feisty heroine that isn't afraid of her sexuality and Lucky as a strong hero that risks everything to make himself vulnerable to have the love he's always wanted.

This book was ok at best. I didn't hate it but I didn't particularly like it either. I found the characters extremely one dimensional and boring. The storyline felt rushed and lacked any kind of excitement that made me want to read any further. I don't have anything bad to say about the book or anything good to say about the book.

A reunion story with lots of twists and turns

Former Marine turned P.I. David “Lucky” Landon is searching for a missing stripper in his small hometown. Taylor Elliot, his best friend’s kid sister, comes home again after a seven year absence and tangles with Lucky as she packs up her parents’ home for sale.

The chemistry between them is still too hot to touch, and she’s not a kid anymore. Taylor gets a job at the strip club when the strippers won’t talk to Lucky, and both end up in the police station.

Taylor convinces Lucky to settle for a three-week, no-holds-barred torrid affair. Determined to persuade her to stay with him as his wife, he accepts, though they have their work cut out for them to stay ahead of the goons from the strip club.

Not for the faint of heart! Steamy love scenes and gritty reminders of post traumatic stress syndrome make the happily ever after all the sweeter.

Robin Covington has crafted a fun, sexy, emotional romance that also delivers action and intrigue; family drama; and the quirkiness of a small southern town.

Lucky Landon returns home after a lifetime as a Marine, ready to settle down in the only place that's ever given him comfort--home. He plans to buy Promised Land, the family farm, and rescue his parents from crushing debt. When he encounters his best friend's little sister, he wonders if this isn't finally his shot to have everything he really wants.

Taylor is back in this sleepy little town for one reason--to pack up her parents house after their bitter divorce so they can sell the place, giving her the money she needs to invest in her dream of owning her own spa back in Hawaii.

Taylor wants to spend the next week exploring each other's bodies, enjoying their relationship for what it is. An on again, offset again hookup. But Lucky wants her to stay and build a life with him.

The love scenes are incredibly hot while also expertly building the emotional connection between Taylor and Lucky. There is a great cast of supporting characters from Lucky' s dad and Taylor's brother to the local sheriff and the bad guys who disrupt their lives. I loved this story from start to finish and I can't wait to read A Night of Southern Comfort.
