I enjoyed this book, it was different to other romantic books I have read. And the main female was hella relatable, the chemistry and tension alongside humor was perfect.

This book could have benefited from both trimming pages and adding to it. Less than 300 pages and I feel like I barely know any of the characters--the most being Vincent and he wasn't the POV character. It was light-hearted and at times fun. Legit made me laugh multiple times. There was also many times where it was hard to read--like the multiple miscommunication plotlines that were brushed aside so quickly without any explanation or finding out characters were fighting when it barely seemed like the fight started until it ended. And it all took place over 3-ish weeks . . . the pacing felt so off. Wish there was more exploring of the characters--especially the three girlies. None of them, not even the FMC, the POV character, was really fleshed out outside of one or two identifying factors (likes to party, likes drinking, likes romance novels etc.) though there were some great friendship moments like watching a movie together knowing one of them needed it despite not all of them liking it.

And then the insta-love. They make out in a library 15 minutes after meeting in a scene that went from zero to one-hundred REAL QUICK. Afterwards, most of her thoughts are about jumping his bones. Somehow they fall in love over three weeks where most of it is spent with them miscommunicating and she says it EVERY time but then continues to do it. She legit learns the same lesson--from miscommunicating and from not--like five times but then continues the same behavior. What's the definition of "insanity" again?

Did it get me out of a slump? Yes.
Was it a quick read? Also yes.
Could it be fun? Again, yes.

But judging outside of those three things, I just wish there was more in terms of character development and plot pacing.

I felt it related to me on a high level and I absolutely love it so much, the author was new for me too.

The girl is dyslexic and she reads a lot, so that was very relatable for me and I felt connected to her.

This fmc's pov was cringe and pls girl, stop lusting all over the place. All of her inner monologues were just so annoying. Also, she said she hates the miscommunication trope in books, but then she engages in a whole unnecessary miscommunication with the boy she likes. Seriously, they didn't have any chemistry or tension between them, and they only met about four times!! During that time, they didn't even have a good conversation. The whole insta-love situation is so weird. By the end, you can't convince me that these two human beings would last long in a relationship.

Super cute and quick read. She’s a tall English major and he’s an even taller basketball star, it’s lots of miscommunication tropes BUT she admits to the miscommunication, and with her friends encouragement they talk it out and come together.

This book drops you right into the middle of the action and then pulls you away only for the main character to find a reason back into it. This is a quick, playful read that is self aware and acknowledges a lot of romance tropes. Some of the jokes had me laughing out loud! The characters don’t have a lot in common, but the chemistry is written so well that it’s still worth it.

If you dislike characters who makes the same mistake over and over again, Kendall is not the girl for you. Her insecurities are so frustrating when even she identifies her fatal flaw early on!
