The curse has been lifted and everything is just as rotten as before could be the tag line of this book. It's a fine and spooky adventure, but I found (as is so often true of second books) that it lagged, doing a lot of the same things as the first one but without me being that interested any longer.

This was a great addition to the A Pinch of Magic series. From the get go, this was an adventure that captured my imagination. In addition to the Widdershins sisters, there were some new characters that were equally intriguing. I'm looking forward to picking up [b:A Tangle of Spells|52751527|A Tangle of Spells (A Pinch of Magic, #3)|Michelle Harrison|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1602089575l/52751527._SY75_.jpg|78745411]

Another fun adventure with the Widdershins sisters and this time there were pirates.

Another fun, charming, middle-grade book. Though I liked it a little bit less than the first one. I think the plot was a bit weaker and the side characters didn't grip me as much. I did enjoy it, though! I'll probably check out the other books in the series, but maybe I'll wait a bit until I'm more in the mood to read them.

Pirates, wisps, treasure and three fearless sisters, what is there not to like? My favorite thing about this book has to be the plot. From the first twist at the beginning to the sisters' final discovery about Willow, this book was a blast. It's a sequel to [b:A Pinch of Magic|38749835|A Pinch of Magic (A Pinch of Magic, #1)|Michelle Harrison|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1540297181l/38749835._SY75_.jpg|60339751] but I honestly couldn't remember how that one ended! Thankfully the author wrote this book in a way that, even though my memory of the last book was shaky I was able to thoroughly enjoy reading this one. I love books with sisters because, having three of my own, I can really connect with their relationship and it's always fun when you can see yourself inside of a story. I loved how the three sisters, Fliss, Betty and Charlie were not only family, but each others' best friends. Just saw that a third installment of this series is to be released soon, I can't wait! Thank you Michelle Harrison and everyone who made this book possible. Happy Reading :)

Another great Widdershins adventure!
I love all three girls, and their run ins on this one are brilliantly fun. Charlie asking pirates questions and being generally disappointed in their pirate-y ness was utterly fantastic, I was giggling away.
I liked Willow too, and Spit. They added well to the group :)
The adventure was perfect for a middle grade read - with lots of wonderful twists and turns, and a good reliance on myth. That was possibly my favourite part - the way the story within a story worked! And Betty knowing some of it but also realising she couldn’t do it all was lovely.
Honestly this is such a lovely read, I highly recommend the series.
