This was probably one my favorite book in the series besides the first book. Now only do Alex and his friends discover shipwreck island, but they also overcome leaving the island after spending weeks repairing the boat, Alex overcomes the need to lead by himself and really learns how to delegate according to people's strengths, and also, while there is terrible tragedy in the book, we learn just how people grieve. Anger, weeping, sorrow, pain, etc. I like that this series doesn't brush over hard things, but let's us really feel the emotions of the characters.

This book was so damn slow and I have been reading this since May and today I finally kinda skimmed through the last 150 pages I guess. I was interested in the last 100 pages so this got bumped up to 2 stars. Overall, it was my least favourite book from the whole series.

So much fun listening to the characters growing. One of our favorites of the series.
