I was extremely frustrated reading this. The book jacket made it seem like this was a story about a missing wife. That was a tiny fraction of the story. The bulk of the story was about Martin's (the husband) college days. So much of that could have been edited down. It was benign and boring. There was absolutely no point in that being the major part of this story. I understand what the author was trying to convey, but it took up way too much of the story.
I forced myself to stay with it because I had hope it would be worth it. There had to be some reason the author spent so much time on the past, right? It had to mean something, right? The reveal, if you can call it that, was unimaginative and unexciting. The ending was highly unsatisfying. There was so much potential here because Sandgren is a good writer but this really disappointed me.

Lyssnat på den utspritt under många veckor! Shit vilken bok! Var inte säker på vad jag skulle tycka, men blev snabbt förälskad i den.
