2.5 stars. I compare this series to shows like The OC and Grey's Anatomy. It's stupid, but you want to keep watching. I will be reading the next in the series.
The whole "changed by love from a cad to a hero" plotline is stupid. I don't buy Henry's change for a second. I started laughing when Will got shot down at Grand Central Station. However, I was quite interested in Carolina's story line in this second novel (in the first book, I found her chapters boring). And I really, really want to see Penelope disgraced and in ruins.

Continuation of a pretty good story, can't believe the ending. I'm also surprised at Lina's rapid ascent of society, a couple people figured out who she is but are just ok with it, so things are going her way. I hope things work out well for the Hollands, something seems up with the guy helping them out.

For those of you who enjoyed The Luxe, Rumors is a must-read. The sequel, like its predecessor, is the unholy union of The Age of Innocence and Gossip Girl, but unlike the first book, the latest is far more melodramatic. Though it lagged slightly towards the middle, the ending had the same pop and snap that made The Luxe so satisfying. I personally can't wait to get my hands on Envy, due out later this year!

omg, omg. i liked this one much better than the luxe, maybe because i read it on a beach and it was just so perfect for that. but godbersen's writing is really tight, and i devoured the details and the suspense. i'm so happy there's a third coming out.
