A nice story for the end of the world.

I am not sure how I feel about this book. I was curious enough to finish it, but am completely indifferent to the experience. I think what bothers me most is that I found the characters completely flat and didn't get attached or even care all that much about what happened to them. Odd....very odd....

The start was so great until the middle of the book it was just brilliant. But then...bam. A few pages after she wakes up it's just strange reading this book. I was sitting there and was just thinking: "WHAAAT?! Why is this happening now? What's that even supposed to mean?" Really, really weird. I liked the part where Jared speaks to all of them though. But this whole "everybody falls asleep, build up a new world, wisdom bla blah BLAH" was just annoying after a certain time.

This book has a wonderful setup and is quite strong and gripping for at least the first half, but it gets squishy and preachy at the end, basically ruining itself.

Love this book. What I consider to be classically his style.

Not my favourite Coupland but easy enough to read, a bit too trippy for my taste.
