some parts were just hard to get through, and not enough made up for those parts. I want to give it another try though. And also I love all of the Garths!

Most of the Indian Universities include this in their curriculum, but mine is an exempted one. This is lucky as we have enough worries without this horribly boring book adding to the burden. Well, that's the case of all Eliot's works. They look downright dry but if you can finish it, then the aura will never leave. I still remember even the character names, which is unusual. And the dying scene of Casaubon, with Dorothea running towards the garden ready to give the promise, lingers in the mind too.

Middlemarch is one of those books you sit by the fire in winter to read or by the pool on holiday. It has a very relaxed feel with plenty of twists and turns that keep you wanting to know what's next. There were parts where I probably scanned through because politics were heavy, but this did not take much away for me. The ending was satisfactory.

For the growing good of the world is partly dependent on unhistoric acts; and that things are not so I'll with you and me as they might have been, is half owing to the number who lived faithfully a hidden life, and rest in unvisited tombs.

I did it! I conquered the mammoth, the giant, the final boss: MIDDLEMARCH. And I loved it, 4.5 stars ✨
The thing I found most masterful out of all the masterful things in this quaint book was the dialogue. Never read better dialogue in my life! The drama, the emotions, the love and the hate.
And a brilliant set of interesting and memorable characters who will certainly stay with me for the rest of my life!
