I started reading this book on a whim and absolutely loved it. Very character driven but has a lovely storyline and not pretentious.

I really enjoyed the beautiful, lyrical writing style of this book. It was almost like reading Virginia Woolfe, with parts that read like poetry, without neglecting the story that runs through it. The book is imbued wit art, history, compassion, and hope. I enjoyed every word and sentence from the first page to the last.
It's not one of those books that I would recommend to anyone, because just like reading Virginia Woolfe, one would have to be in a particular mood and mindset to enjoy it. The first paragraph of the book captures the style of the book so well that it should be obvious right away whether the reader would love or hate the book.

I liked reading a book that takes place in present-day Paris for the insight into that culture. The story was a little bizarre but sweet, I'd recommend to those interested in hearing about a city-junkie-turned-philanthropic artist inspiring other down-and-outs while simultaneously rescuing an old woman from a nursing home...

I was surprised - and delighted - when this evolved into a love story.
Hope?
