I did not know what to expect. This book was funny, happy, heartbreaking, devastating, and then empowering. I really enjoyed this more than I expected.

I think it would have been better had there been less focus on the side characters. they kind of took away from the central story line

I feel like this book is more like a woman’s fiction than romance.

It was a good book with romance out of the equation. What made it NOT good was that it was marketed as romance (and romance being the main genre instead of a sub genre, at that), yet the romance was BARELY there.

SpoilerGeorgina and Lucas barely interacted during present time, and you want me to believe their romance was believable? After 12 YEARS of not being in each other’s lives? And add to that, they only dated for… what… a month, 12 years ago? Yeah no. It only made him irredeemable to me even more because here’s the guy who REFUSES to interact with Georgina until like a week before that kiss happened because he thinks she’s a cheating slut, only for him to come crawling back after he finds out that she was SA’d? I’m sorry but his whole speech at her place didn’t CUT it.

Georgina is a struggling aspiring writer who just got fired from her day job as a waitress. To make matters worse, she comes home to find her boyfriend in bed with another woman. Georgina luckily gets the next bartending job offered to her. Her life starts looking up again until she runs into her high school boyfriend at the bar she will be working at. Her ex also happens to be the co-owner of the bar. That's the worst that it gets right? Nope. To top it all off, he doesn't remember a thing about her.
