My Boyfriend Is a Bear by Pamela Ribon

Beginning with an admittedly bizarre premise, "My Boyfriend is a Bear" offers a surprisingly sweet and tender romance story with humor and honesty. Through Nora's relationship with Bear, the creative team builds an intimate portrait of romance while touching on larger truths of human experience and relationships. If you can let go and roll with the basic concept, what you'll find is a beautiful and heartfelt story of love and hope. I didn't expect to enjoy this as much as I did.

I think this was a cute story about exactly what it says a girl and a bear. Although I assumed it was a metaphor for dating someone your friends disapprove of, I don’t think it was the intention. It was however a nice quick read that I did enjoy even though it was simply a love story.

I’m crying happy tears! This book was so sweet!! The book’s premise is so bizarre and yet it’s so full of love and all other emotions love brings with it: heart-break, happiness, loneliness, hope, longing.... AAAH, I’m gonna go and make all my friends read this!!!!

This was a very cute graphic novel that I really enjoyed. <Death of a cat as a trigger warning however./>

Amy is really good at recommending books (like it's her job or something (: )
I was talking about how I'm bad at reading comics/ graphic novels because I try to read too fast and don't stop to look at the pictures. And she recommended this one, I think because the art isn't driving the plot, it's more background / supporting the text.

I really enjoyed it! The story is sweet and the artwork is cute. I laughed out loud sometimes, both at written jokes and drawn jokes.
