I thought this was a great introduction to the history of feminism. It's structured chronologically with chapters on the most significant issues of each decade. It's very nicely put together and the archival photos are brilliant. The chapters obviously don't go into a lot of detail but it was a good starting point for further research. I've read a lot about feminism but even so there were some people and events I hadn't heard of and ended up looking further into. Given the scope of the book, it's still quite American/Eurocentric but there are a few sections which look at the issues from a more global perspective. As always when reading about the history of feminism, it makes me optimistic for the future seeing how far we've come, while also slightly despairing at how long it's taken to get this far.
