After reading Lessons in Corruption and Welcome to the Dark Side, I wasn’t sure what to make of Lionel Danner. The MC was always wary of cops, and with good reason, even though Lionel did have good intentions. As I read about Lionel and his past, as well as HR’s love of him from afar, I fell in love with both of them. Seeing them work undercover together to take down the rival Nightstalker MC was really thrilling. They were the perfect couple.

Giana.. you are a wonder. This series is so addictive, I just can’t get enough. Rosie and Lion just captured my heart. The romance, settings, and plot were so amazingly well written. Can’t wait to read the many books that are to come!

I have read the previous books in this series and I loved them all but this one is my least favourite. Not by much though.

I did enjoy this one and if you have read the previous books I think you will like this one .

I do recommend.

This book follows Danner undercover while he tries to take down a corrupt MC and HR the Fallen MC princess. The chemistry between these two is off the charts! They are both such complex characters! Danner is a blue collar mom thats so dark and broody. HR is the definition of strength, she takes on so much to protect her family and not be a burden. I relate to that hardcore! I could not get enough of these two!

HR & Danner! I wasn’t obsessed with this plot as much. It still kept me intrigued but I’m kinda over other biker gangs thinking they can take down the Fallen Men. Leave Zeus alone!!! I still enjoyed the relationship progression of this one. Danner ( A FREAK) It’s always the quiet ones!! I love this for HR she deserved the best after her daddy’s little age gap romance. What was sad was her family shunning her.. Zeus YOU KNEW DAMN WELL YOUR “PRINCESS” WOULD NEVER TURN ON YOU. Especially after she just murdered this man. Ya know just when I was about to forgive Giana she goes and kills the goodest boy. Never going to forgive her for that… But overall this one was a good read, the ending was a little off… I need to know more but I guess that’s what the next book is for.

Honorable Mentions

“You think I don’t know that under all that thorny sass you got a heart as tender as a budded rose, you can think again,” he said in that flat, sure tone.

“Not in charge of you,” he repeated slowly, his mouth moving around the words in a way that made them cursive, smooth and rounded and emphasized. “Never have been, though can’t say, Rosie, that the idea of it hasn’t crossed my mind. Takin’ all that wild and leashing it, breaking it under a firm, calm hand… yeah,” he drawled. “Thought about it.”

“But we’ll both know the truth. It may be your body, Harleigh Rose, but I own it.”

Unpopular opinion alert...I was SO very much looking forward to this book, but I think it fell victim to the end of the year funk I seem to be in. Or maybe my expectations were too high after how much I loved the first two books. It wasn't a bad book by any stretch. Hence why I am giving it 3-Stars. It was still a very well written book. The sex was SMOKIN' hot. The plot was engaging. Although there were a few things that didn't quite make sense to me in regard to Danner being undercover. I also felt the plot was a little all over the place at times. The characters (both primary and secondary) were well developed and interesting. The ending was sweet. All positives things...that said, it was my least favorite book of the series.

I didn't like the set up with the other women stuff. I feel like this is me being super picky, but it was in my face a bit too much and bothered me. I wasn't a fan that Larkin was Harleigh Rose's friend and had been
Spoiler banging Danner while he was undercover, and that he had to continue pretending that she was his old lady, which meant having her sit on his lap and kissing her in front of others.
Not to mention on top of that he was also banging a cop for two years. I am not even sure what the point was with this since it added NOTHING at all to the story and literally went NOWHERE. I am not sure why the author felt Danner needed to be romantically involved with TWO different OW. It was just a bit too much for me and lessened my enjoyment of both the story and Danner as a hero (especially with the douchey way he ended things with the cop).

On top of that, I wasn't a huge fan of the flashbacks. There wasn't too many of them, but they weirded me out a bit because in most of them Harleigh Rose is super young. So we would get a flashback scene between her and Danner (who is ten years older than her), then move to the present where they would be having kinky ass sex. It was a bit...I don't know...creepy? Weird? Jarring?

In any case, as I said, it wasn't a bad book, I think my mood played a major role in my feelings about this one for sure. So do keep that in mind when deciding if you want to read this one or not.
