It was okay, not Elsie’s worst and not her best.

AHH COLE AND VIOLET!!!

If you read [b:Off to the Races|57516722|Off to the Races (Gold Rush Ranch, #1)|Elsie Silver|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1617887354l/57516722._SY75_.jpg|90065212], then you may have noticed the tension between them. Now to find out how they met, what essentially drove them apart, and how they reconnected? So good.

I worry about Cole. From the trauma of losing his dad, to everything he experienced in his military career, to his ex-fiancee, to everything that went down with Violet, he's been through it. Plus there's that secret he has been keeping which is clearly eating at him.

Violet continues to amaze me. She is such a good character. Definitely one of my favorites. Violet is strong, she's smart, she's feisty, she's funny, and she's caring. Of course she's also a wonderful jockey.

I really liked the story, the relationship, the horse (ahhh Pip!), and of course the steam. Also that 3rd act breakup with the tough love conversation? LOVED IT! I could perfectly picture all of the frustration and heartache that were being poured out.

Cannot wait to begin The Front Runner.

This book was not as fluffy as the first one, Elsie tackled some heavier topics but it was done so well.
I enjoyed this read, not really finding any fault with it.

Watching Violet grow into a strong independent woman was awe-inspiring, and getting to see Cole work through his misfortunes in life was so precious.

I loved both of them so much and often found myself sighing or laughing out loud.
Cute. Short. To the point — as always with Elsie’s writing.

A beautiful heartache that captures you in a flash. Photo Finish is a snapshot into healing the soul despite the risk to the heart. Violet and Cole take emotions on a complex stroll through life's challenges and love's redemption. Elsie Silver speaks the language of love in the most intoxicating way.

I won’t lie I read a rom com because I needed light and easy after finishing a little life. This was good enough. Elsie Silver writes good rom coms - the plot was okay and the main guy never really became likeable to me. But easy read post a little life.
