It was a good read on a boring day. Read it in a single day. The only thing that bothered me while reading it was when Miranda turned into a vampire/eternal, she didnt even bother thinking of her family, especially her mom whom she lives with. It's unbelievable of her to even show slight care for her pet Mr. nesbit or whatever its name is, but doesnt even stop to think she misses her mom or dad.

Anyway, i love how it ended though. Not in the usual "and they live happily ever after" type but it's given that it's a happy ending. And i love Zachary's point of views/narrations. I love his "angels aren't perfect" image.

Overall, i like the story and i think the plot is very original with the angel-vampire love going on.

Zachary is a guardian angel, and he's fallen in love with Miranda, the girl he's been guarding ever since she was a child. But when she is kidnapped by vampires and Zachary falls from grace, things get really complicated: can a fallen angel and a newly turned vampire (oops, "eternal") find true happiness?

Expected the fabulousness of Tantalize, but Eternal fell short. The plot was complicated and never fully untangled. Unanswered questions were left unanswered. Main characters were uninteresting and secondary characters were not well-developed - but were still more interesting. The most interesting parts were skimmed over. Unfortunately, it looks like a sequel is planned. I think I'll skip it.

This one was a chance taken from the online library. I'm not sure what made me want to read it, but it was actually not too bad. I'm surprised, because I picked up the... I don't know if it's actually a prequel or not... preceding novel, [b:Tantalize|353016|Tantalize (Tantalize, #1)|Cynthia Leitich Smith|http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41UrflyR8QL._SL75_.jpg|343231] at Borders, and had to promptly set it down before I threw it, because the blurb reads thusly: "Quincie Morris has never felt more alone. Her hybrid-werewolf first love threatens to embark on a rite of passage that will separate them forever. And just as she and her uncle are about to unveil Austin's red-hot vampire-themed restaurant, a brutal murder leaves them scrambling for a chef.

There's more, of course, but I stopped around "hybrid werewolf first love" and ran away.

Happily, though, Eternal isn't quite as bad. It could use a little more background as to why things are as they are, both in Miranda's world and Zachary's, but all in all, is a decent, if predictable, story.

Angels and Vampires all in one book! The perspectives alternate between vampire girl and her "slipped" guardian angel. The world is rendered vividly and the story is a lot of fun to read.

Much like the previous book in this series, this felt incredibly disjointed. There's a whole section setting up Miranda's life as an everyday mortal, meeting her family and friends, getting to know Zach and his role in her life - then everything's upturned and we never really think about that again.

This is apparently meant to be a prequel, but there's even less worldbuilding set up in this one than in Tantalize. The writing style is fine and the world is intriguing, but there's never really a chance to sink one's teeth (ha) into any part of the story, no reason to care or empathize. Ultimately, I'd describe it as trying to fit all of the Twilight series - from mortal to vampire to The Destined One to the tragic end - in about 300 pages.

A lot of moving pieces, hard to know where to look/when to care.
