I do love the amount of Star Wars books that are coming out at the moment, my bank balance doesn’t but my heart does! This was a very sweet touching story, interesting to see insecure padawan Obi Wan and a surprisingly touching tale.

OBI-WAN DESERVES THE WORLD. this book is for the obi-wan fans for sureee, and I loved how we delved into his time as a padawan, his insecurities and anxieties, which were all quite relatable - by chapter 2 my heart was breaking for him.

the characters introduced were all loveable for the most part, with a standout for me being zae-brii. i also appreciated some of the name-drops we had, and specifically an THR character which had me screaming in my seat.

i did not care too much for the villain though, found their pov chapters unimportant, and tbh eel that the book did not need a villain character to convey the message across - i feel it would have worked better as an inner conflict rather than outside characters coming in.

Overall, it was a good book. It wasn’t the best Star Wars book I’ve read nor the best Obi-Wan book I’ve read but it was enjoyable. The whole time I couldn’t help but compare it to Master & Apprentice by Claudia Gray, which is still one of my favorite Star Wars books but that doesn’t mean that ‘Padawan’ was bad. I like the secondary characters and Obi-Wan’s journey. I especially liked learning and reading about a new planet.
