This is a gripping and intense read that will captivate fans of dark romance, bully romance, and reverse harem themes, particularly those who enjoy complex, suspenseful stories with strong female protagonists and morally ambiguous characters.

SUMMARY: (SPOILER WARNING)

After Tate and the guys take out her attempted rapist and fight off all the intruders of Everlake, the dynamic between them starts to shift, along with the politics at school.

Nash (Monroe) is made headmaster and Brown is kicked out. He is also initiated as the fourth Night Keeper. And while him and Tate continue to plot revenge on the other Night Keepers, they are growing closer and closer.

In the meantime Tate finds herself grudgingly forgiving the other guys incrementally. As truths are revealed and their true natures come to light, she finds herself having conflicting feelings for them.

While things with the guys might be improving, new threats are lurking. Tate seems to have acquired a creepy stalker. And she makes contact with her dad, who wants to meet her in person. But the meeting with her dad is invaded by those who want him dead, and she finds herself in the hands of another (even more) dangerous man.

REVIEW:

This one was good too. Unfortunately my enjoyment of it was hindered a bit because of my own life being busy the past few days, leaving me very little time for reading. So I couldn’t quite immerse myself in the story as much as the first book.

Still, I really enjoyed it and I liked seeing the characters grow in this one a lot. There’s still a lot of growth to go, but some good changes have happened here.

I’m still loving the characters.

Tate is such a badass. Both in that she can fight physically, but also in all the little ways she gets back at the guys. Her revenge towards them shifts to be a little more playful near the end and I enjoyed seeing the shift in her feelings for them. She’s such a fun character. I really love her and I can see why she’s caught each of their attentions.

The guys are also making good changes on varying levels. I liked seeing them apologetic and human. I enjoyed learning more about their pasts and how they shaped them. So glad to see Blake in particular move past his revenge goals. Excellent character building in this series.

Speaking of the characters. I adore the bromance between the guys. There were so many little moments where you could feel their love for each other. Kyan helping Saint cope with waking up late (he’s severely OCD about routines). The adorable banter between Kyan and Saint considering how completely opposite they are. The teasing flirting between Blake and Kyan is also so cute and fun. I just love how comfortable and at ease they are with each other. Great foundation for a RH!

The romance in this series is incredibly slow burn! The sexual tension is seriously getting painful. There’s some sex, but for such long books it’s very little at this point. More teasing and tension than anything else. But I also love it! I’m not surprised considering this was how it was for Harlequin Crew too. But it’s deliciously painful too. I have a total love/hate relationship with slow burn romances. lol

As far as the story goes, I really don’t think Toby is really the stalker. He was totally framed. It was one of the Unspeakables. Maybe Deepthroat, or Squits, or Bait. Probably Bait? Knowing his past crimes and what “he did for” Tate by letting those psychos into the school grounds.

Oh and she better not be separated from the guys for too long in the next book after being kidnapped! Grrr! I hate separation periods. But…I also think this will help her to see them all in a different light once she’s reunited with them. This kind of thing might be necessary to help the relationships with her the guys become deeper and more serious.

Overall it was a great book! Probably would’ve been a five star for me if I hadn’t had so much going on in RL which kept me from being able to binge it. Still, I am gonna pick the next one right up. Loving this series!

The happy ending wasn’t in sight and I was getting impatient with the MMCs and their asshole ways.

This book is a rollercoaster ride!!! It is soooo good!!!

I love that we get to see more about each of the characters backstory, it allows us to see why they're the way they are!

There isn't a dull moment in this book, it's really fast paced throughout which is impressive with it being a long book!

The ending 😱😱😱😱. In true Twisted Sister style, we're left with a huge cliffhanger. I'm writing this review after a reread so I already know what comes next, but it doesn't make it any less upsetting 😭😭😭

Diving straight into book 3 because I need more! ❤️

I am loving the audios. Jake and Bridget Bordeaux are some of my favourite narrators, they make the books so easy to listen to while making them fun and keeping you engaged! 😍
