This is the book for Kenji Kishimoto lovers (like me). It had some plot to it but the Kenji content is what works here.

I really liked this novella from Kenji’s POV. It’s refreshing to get a book from one of the characters who is considered the ‘up beat fun one’ after all the shit and trauma they’ve been through, and to understand how that ‘up beat fun one’ is actually feeling. And that nod to how much he loves and misses James! Of course he’s not going to be doing too good. Plus he’s still got sedative drugs in his system… I need him to be okaaaay!
I also enjoyed the development of the tension/relations/miscommunications between him and Nazeera.
And I adore Kenji’s perspective of Juliette and the love for their friendship that he has.
As well as character development this novella also furthers the plot. And it ends on another cliffhanger which I love. Whaaaat is happening and what’s going to happen next?
Only thing I wasn’t too keen on was the weird secret keeping from Ella & Aaron, like of course that’s shady and of course that’s going to piss Kenji off and why’s everyone reacting to his anger like he’s being silly?
Satisfactory ending? Yes.
